Beavers Take 2nd Place on Day Two at Pleasant Mountain

BRIDGTON, Maine - The University of Maine at Farmington women's alpine team earned a second place finish for the second consecutive day on Sunday in a Reynolds Division giant slalom event at Pleasant Mountain. The top-three Beavers posted a time of 4:52.49 in their second place effort.

Saint Joseph's College of Maine earned the top-spot, sweeping the weekend on their home hill. The Monks top-three skiers combined for a total time of 4:39.65.

Top Beaver Skiers:

Sophomore Elanore Robb (Woodbury, Minn.) earned her second podium of the season, earning the silver medal after placing second with a total time of 1:31.26. Robb finished her two runs with times of 46.37 seconds and 44.89 seconds respectively.

Senior Grace Mahmood (Oxford, Conn.) placed eighth overall and was the second fastest Beaver on the course. Mahmood finished with a two-run time of 1:36.79. Mahmood had splits of 48.77 seconds and 48.02 seconds on her two runs.

Senior Fallon Smith (Nelson, N.H.) was the third Beaver to contribute to the team's overall finish, placing 18th individually. Smith raced to a total time of 1:44.44 across her two runs. Smith's two runs were clocked at 53.00 seconds and 51.44 seconds respectively.

Hokulani Caroselli (Temple, Maine), who has been the top skier for the Beavers so far this season, did not finish her first run and would not contribute to the team's score.

UP NEXT

Farmington returns to action next Saturday at Kents Hill in another Reynolds Division giant slalom event. The race will be a Morgan's Message Awareness Race.
