Boisvert Earns 1st Career Defensive Player of the Week Honor

FARMINGTON, Maine – For the first time in her collegiate career, University of Maine at Farmington junior defender Lindsay Boisvert (Westbrook, Maine) has been named the Central Maine Collegiate Field Hockey Conference (CMCFHC) Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Boisvert was a bright spot defensively in the Beavers' lone game last week, recording a pair of defensive saves in Farmington's 4-1 setback against the University of Southern Maine on Tuesday.

In the opening quarter, Boisvert—positioned on one of the posts during a penalty corner—made a brilliant play to deny the Huskies a goal by clearing the ball off the goal line and keeping the game tied at the time.

Boisvert's second defensive save came in the 59th minute when she turned away a shot from Leah Thibodeau.

Through 12 games this season, Boisvert has recorded a team-high three defensive saves.
