Bodach-Turner Leads Beavers to 9th Place Finish in 15K Classic

BEND, Oregon - University of Maine at Farmington junior standout Ayla Bodach-Turner (East Montpelier, Vermont) raced to a 12th place finish to help guide the Beavers to a 9th place finish as a team in Friday's 15K Classic Mass Start National Championship.

Bodach-Turner had her best finish of the week, posting a time of 1:02:22.0 in her 12th place finish. Bodach-Turner finished the first split at 20:53.6 and the second split with a total time of 41:51.9.

Sophomore Cora Treiss (Berlin, N.H.) had a strong showing once again for the Beavers racing to a 26th place finish. Treiss posted a first split time of 22:04.0 and a second split time of 44:36.2 en route to a full time of 1:06:02.4.

First-year Kelsey McCrum (Greenbush, Maine) showed well for herself, earning 53rd place overall. McCrum finished the 15K race with a time of 1:29:18.3. McCrum had split times of 28:41.4 and 59:14.3 in the race.

Lily Hubanks of St. Olaf College was crowned the 15K Classic National Champion, finishing the race in 57:20.2, over a minute and 45 seconds faster than any other skier. As a team, St. Olaf continued their dominant week, earning their third National Championship event.

The Beavers are scheduled to finish up their week in Oregon tomorrow with a team sprint relay.
