NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – The University of Maine at Farmington women's lacrosse team has been named an Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Academic Honor Squad for the 2025 season, the association announced Wednesday afternoon. This marks the second time in the last three seasons that the Beavers have received the prestigious academic distinction.
To qualify as an IWLCA Academic Honor Squad, a program must achieve a team grade point average (GPA) of 3.20 or higher for the full academic year. The Farmington women's lacrosse team far exceeded that benchmark, posting an outstanding cumulative GPA of 3.807 for the 2024–25 academic year.
In addition to the team honor, the IWLCA also announced the 2025 Academic Honor Roll, which recognizes individual student-athletes. To be eligible, student-athletes must be juniors, seniors, or graduate students and must have earned a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher.
