Reynolds Continues Incredible Run, Named NAC Player and Defensive Player of the Week

WATERVILLE, Maine – Junior forward Jason Reynolds (Winslow, Maine) continued his incredible play a week ago and was honored as the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Player and Defensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday afternoon.

Reynolds, who currently leads the nation in total rebounds, rebounds per game, and double-doubles, recorded three double-doubles last week, bringing his season total to 13 and earning his 11th straight, dating back to November 21.

Reynolds opened the week with a 15-point, 19-rebound performance at home as the Beavers took down VTSU Lyndon, 94-83, in NAC action. The 19 rebounds marked a new career high for Reynolds, topping his previous mark of 18 set at home against SUNY Delhi on November 22.

On Tuesday, Reynolds delivered one of the best performances in recent Farmington memory, tallying a career-high 35 points on 13-of-17 shooting from the field, including an ultra-efficient 8-of-9 from beyond the arc. He also pulled down 15 rebounds, accomplishing all of this in just 20 minutes of playing time as the Beavers blew past Johnson, 109-63.

Reynolds continued to make an impact on both ends of the floor in Farmington's 70-63 road win over Maine Maritime on Saturday. He was once again efficient from the field, shooting 7-of-11 en route to finishing with 15 points to go along with 17 rebounds.

In total for the week, Reynolds piled up 65 points and 51 rebounds, good for averages of 21.7 points and 17.0 rebounds per game, while shooting an incredible 66.7% from the field and 73.3% from beyond the arc. Of the 51 rebounds he recorded last week, 16 came on the offensive end of the floor.

Reynolds will look to continue his torrid season on Friday evening as the Beavers head to New York to take on SUNY Delhi for a 5:30 p.m. start.
