FARMINGTON, Maine - University of Maine at Farmington junior Jason Reynolds continues to assert himself as one of the top players in Division III, earning Maine Men's Basketball Coaches & Writers Association Co-Player of the Week honors. This marks the second time this season Reynolds has received the Player of the Week honor following a standout week for the Beavers.
The Winslow, Maine native played a pivotal role in Farmington's perfect 3-0 week, delivering elite production on both ends of the floor. Over the three-game stretch, Reynolds averaged 21.7 points and 17.0 rebounds per game while shooting an impressive 66.7 percent from the field and 73.3 percent from three-point range.
Reynolds' most explosive performance came Tuesday afternoon against VTSU Johnson. In a blowout victory over the Badgers, he turned in a career-best outing, shooting 13-of-17 from the floor and connecting on a career-high 8-of-9 attempts from beyond the arc. He finished with a career-high 35 points in just 20 minutes of action.
Earlier in the week, Reynolds posted a double-double against VTSU Lyndon, scoring 15 points while pulling down a career-high 19 rebounds. He followed that effort with another dominant showing on Saturday against Maine Maritime, recording his 11th consecutive double-double with 15 points and 17 rebounds on an efficient 7-of-11 shooting performance.
Reynolds' teammate Zach McLaughlin (Hampden, Maine) has received MMBCWA honors once this season.
