WATERVILLE, Maine – For the sixth time this season, University of Maine at Farmington junior forward Jason Reynolds (Winslow, Maine) has been named the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Defensive Player of the Week.
Reynolds continued his incredible season with a pair of standout performances on the road in New York last weekend. On Friday against SUNY Delhi, Reynolds piled up 21 points and 19 rebounds in a hard-fought one-point loss. He shot 7-for-17 from the floor, including 4-of-8 from beyond the arc.
On Saturday, in a NAC battle with SUNY Cobleskill, Reynolds grabbed a career-high 24 rebounds, easily eclipsing his previous high of 19, which he had matched the day before. Beyond his monster rebounding output, Reynolds also finished with 21 points and seven assists in Farmington's 86–80 win over the Fighting Tigers.
Reynolds continues to lead the nation in total rebounds, offensive rebounds, rebounds per game, and double-doubles. He currently has 244 rebounds through 17 games this season, which is 46 more than any other player in the country. He has also grabbed 77 offensive rebounds, is averaging 14.4 rebounds per game, and has piled up 15 double-doubles.
