St. Cyr Earns 1st in Dual Slalom at USCSA Nationals

LAKE PLACID, New York - University of Maine at Farmington sophomore Rosie St. Cyr (Pownal, Maine) capped her week at the USCSA National Championships in grand fashion, placing first overall in the Individual Dual Slalom National Championship.

St. Cyr had a bye in the opening round, moving her directly into the quarterfinals where she squared off against the fourth seed from Stanford University. St. Cyr wasted no time dispatching her opponent to move right into the semifinals.

In the semifinal round, she skied against the top seed from the US Military Academy. St. Cyr once again bested her opponent to advance to the Finals.

In the Finals, she took on Paige Petersen of the University of Utah. St. Cyr ripped through the course and beat out Petersen to bring home gold in the event.
