FARMINGTON, Maine — On Saturday, April 11, the University of Maine at Farmington softball team is pleased to announce that it will host a Breast Cancer Awareness Day as part of its doubleheader against SUNY Delhi, shining a spotlight on strength, hope, and unity.

According to the National Breast Cancer Coalition, an estimated 321,910 women and 2,670 men in the United States will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer in 2026. Additionally, statistics show that 1 in 8 women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer over the course of their lifetime.

As part of Breast Cancer Awareness Day, the softball team is encouraging donations to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Contributions can be made in the days leading up to the game, as well as at an information table on game day.
