Pike and Dow Named to NAC 1st Team All-Conference, DeBoer Lands on 2nd Team

WATERVILLE, Maine - The North Atlantic Conference (NAC) announced the 2026 Softball Postseason Awards on Thursday afternoon, and a pair of University of Maine at Farmington standouts saw their names highlighted on the First Team All-Conference list after leading the Beavers into the playoffs for the third consecutive season. Senior third baseman Maddie Pike (Kennebunk, Maine) and junior outfielder Jessica Dow (Saco, Maine) each received First Team All-Conference honors.

Pike, an everyday starter in the infield for Farmington since she stepped foot on campus, saved her best season for last and was named to the NAC All-Conference First Team for the second time in her career. Pike started all 34 games this season for the Beavers and ended the regular season boasting a career- and team-best .438 batting average after pounding out 45 hits. Pike has posed a threat in the middle of the Beaver batting order for the past four seasons. This season, she finished with 11 doubles and two home runs, scored 23 runs, and tied for the team lead in RBIs with 27.

Pike was among the best hitters in the entire conference during her 2026 campaign, finishing the season ranked fifth in the conference in batting average, ninth in total hits, tied for seventh in doubles, tied for 10th in RBIs, ninth in total bases (62), and ninth in OPS (1.032). Aside from her power numbers, Pike was also one of the toughest hitters to strike out in the entire conference, striking out just nine times in 106 at-bats.

Pike tallied 13 multi-hit games this season, including six in a row in doubleheaders against VTSU Lyndon, VTSU Johnson, and the University of Maine at Augusta toward the tail end of the season. Starting on April 18 in a doubleheader on the road against nationally ranked Husson University, Pike hit safely in 13 straight games and in 14 of her final 15 games to end her collegiate career. Across her 13-game hitting streak, she posted an outstanding .568 batting average, going 25-for-44 during the stretch with one home run, six doubles, 16 RBIs, and 12 runs scored.

Dow finds herself on the NAC All-Conference First Team for the third consecutive year as the Beavers' everyday center fielder. Across 32 games this season, Dow hit .364, recording 36 hits, including 10 doubles, four triples, and four home runs. Her triple and home run totals were both team highs this season. Dow also tied for the team lead in RBIs with 27 while scoring a team-best 31 runs.

Dow ranked inside the top 10 in the entire North Atlantic Conference in several hitting categories this season. She ranked tied for fourth in triples, finished eighth in OPS (1.090), tied for sixth in total bases (66), tied for eighth in runs scored, tied for fourth in home runs, tied for ninth in doubles, and tied for 10th in RBIs.

On top of her offensive output, Dow controlled center field defensively for the Beavers all season, making just one error while finishing with a .983 fielding percentage.

Dow finished the season with nine multi-hit games, including three games with three hits, and was named NAC Player of the Week once. During that award-winning week, Dow went 5-for-12 at the plate, hitting two home runs, driving in five runs, and scoring six times to help the Beavers to a 3-1 record. Dow also rode a 12-game hitting streak from the end of the Beavers' Florida trip on March 19 through April 12. During the streak, Dow hit .462 with 18 hits, three home runs, four doubles, three triples, 12 runs scored, and eight RBIs.

DeBoer, a transfer from the University of Maine, made an immediate impact in the circle this season for the Beavers. In her first season in maroon, DeBoer made 13 appearances, including 11 starts, posting a 4-6 record with a 3.17 ERA and a 1.13 WHIP. She recorded seven complete games and two shutouts across 66.1 innings pitched. DeBoer finished the season with 67 strikeouts, the most in a single season by a Beaver since Brianna McGrath finished the 2019 season with 89. A strike-thrower, DeBoer was among the conference leaders in walks allowed, issuing just 15 while also holding opponents to a .213 batting average.

DeBoer was among the league's best this season, ranking third in the conference in ERA while allowing the second-fewest hits (60) of any pitcher in the conference. She also ranked second in fewest walks allowed, held opposing batters to the third-lowest average of any pitcher, tied for fourth in shutouts, and tied for sixth in strikeouts while throwing just the 14th-most innings.

Out of her 13 appearances, DeBoer threw five or more innings in 10 outings, striking out at least seven batters in six of those contests. Her best performance of the season came on April 25 on the road against VTSU Lyndon, where she tossed a five-inning perfect game and struck out nine batters. She continued her dominant stretch the very next day, retiring the first nine batters she faced, tossing seven innings, and picking up her second victory in as many days on the road against VTSU Johnson.

Sophomore infielder Angelina Ventullo (Salem, N.H.) was also named to the NAC Sportsmanship Team, the conference office announced. Ventullo played in and started 31 games this season for the Beavers as their primary shortstop.
