FARMINGTON, Maine - On Tuesday afternoon, the College Sports Communicators (CSC) released the softball recipients of Academic All-District honors for the 2026 season. The University of Maine at Farmington softball team had four student-athletes recognized, as juniors Emma DeBoer (Saint Leonard, Md.), Jessica Dow (Saco, Maine), and Melissa Mayo (Bridgton, Maine), along with sophomore Angelina Ventullo (Salem, N.H.), each earned the distinguished honor.
To qualify for the CSC Academic All-District Team, student-athletes must be at least sophomores academically while maintaining a minimum grade point average of 3.50 or higher. On the field, athletes must also have competed in 90% of their team's games or started in 66% of the team's total games played. For pitchers, they must have pitched at least 35 innings or appeared in 17 games.
DeBoer just finished her first season as a Beaver after transferring from the University of Maine prior to the 2025 fall semester. She finished the season with a 4-6 record in the circle, amassing 66.1 innings pitched. DeBoer posted a 3.17 ERA and a 1.13 WHIP while striking out 67 batters and walking just 15. A week ago, she received North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Second Team All-Conference honors. DeBoer is a Secondary Education-Science major, and this marks the first CSC Academic All-District honor of her career.
Dow served as the everyday centerfielder for the Beavers this season after spending each of the previous two seasons as the team's starting right fielder. She appeared in 32 games and finished with a .364 batting average and a .423 on-base percentage. Dow earned First Team All-Conference honors for the third consecutive season after tallying four home runs, four triples, 10 doubles, 27 RBIs, and 31 runs scored. Dow is a School Health and Physical Education major and received her second CSC Academic All-District honor in as many seasons.
Mayo, like Dow, received her second consecutive CSC Academic All-District honor. Mayo played in 33 games this season, making 30 starts while splitting time between right and left field. She served as Farmington's leadoff hitter for a majority of the season and finished with a .286 batting average and a .347 on-base percentage. Mayo recorded three doubles, eight RBIs, and 18 runs scored while also going a perfect 3-for-3 on stolen base attempts. Mayo is an Actuarial Science major.
Ventullo, a Special Education major, made 31 starts as the Beavers' primary shortstop this season. The sophomore finished with a .225 batting average and a .300 on-base percentage, tallying 16 hits, including a double and a triple, while driving in 12 runs and scoring seven times. The CSC Academic All-District honor is the first of her collegiate career.
