CASCO, Maine - The University of Maine at Farmington men's golf team traveled to Point Sebago Golf Course on Wednesday to compete in the John Queenan Memorial Golf Tournament, hosted by Saint Joseph's College of Maine. The Beavers' top four scorers finished 61-over par, carding a 349 en route to an eighth-place finish at the event.
The University of Southern Maine topped the field, finishing 10-over par with a team score of 298 to earn a first-place finish. Will Farschon, who competed with Southern Maine's 'B' team, was named the medalist after finishing two-under par with a round of 70.
Beaver Golfers:
The Beavers were paced on the course Wednesday by sophomore Caleb Harvey (Bath, Maine), who tied for 16th overall. Harvey shot a seven-over par 79, finishing the round with two birdies. He carded a 36 on the front nine and a 43 on the back nine.
Sophomore Sam Binette (South Paris, Maine) tied for 44th overall, carding an 86 (+14) for the round. Binette recorded a pair of birdies, starting and ending his round with birdies on par-five holes. He shot a 45 on the front nine and a 41 on the back nine.
Junior Trent Beaudoin (Farmington, Maine) finished just two strokes behind Binette, carding an 88 (+16) to tie for 50th overall. Beaudoin was consistent throughout his round, carding a 44 on both the front and back nines. He finished his round with one birdie, recording a two on the par-three eighth hole.
First-year Ben Wrigley (Farmington, Maine) was the fourth and final Beaver to contribute to the team's overall score. Wrigley finished 24-over par with a 94, tying for 58th overall. Wrigley shot a 48 on both the front and back nines.
Sophomore Gage Suitter (Bath, Maine) also competed Wednesday for the Beavers but did not contribute to the team's overall score. Suitter finished 26-over par with a 96 for the day. He finished the round with one birdie, carding a 50 on the front nine and a 48 on the back nine.

The Beavers return to action on Saturday when they travel to Bangor to compete in the Husson Invitational.
