OAKLAND, Maine - The University of Maine at Farmington men's golf team hosted the UMF Invitational on Saturday at Waterville Country Club, welcoming seven other institutions: Husson University, the University of New England, Saint Joseph's College, Maine Maritime Academy, Southern Maine Community College, Colby College, and the University of Maine at Presque Isle. The Beavers finished 68-over par with a score of 348, placing seventh overall.

Husson topped the field as its top four golfers combined to shoot a 293 (+13), finishing 12 strokes ahead of second-place Colby. Ty Dickson of Husson earned medalist honors after finishing one-under par with a 69.

Beaver Golfers:

Farmington was led by junior Trent Beaudoin (Farmington, Maine), who tied for 22nd overall after carding a 12-over-par 82. Beaudoin shot a 42 on the front nine before finishing with a 40 on the back nine. He finished his round with one birdie, recording a two on the 196-yard, par-three 13th hole.

Sophomore Caleb Harvey (Bath, Maine) finished just one stroke behind Beaudoin, shooting an 83 (+13) to tie for 24th overall. Harvey shot a 43 on the front nine, finishing the first nine holes with a birdie on the par-five ninth hole. He went on to finish with a 40 on the back nine.

Fellow sophomore Gage Suitter (Bath, Maine) shot a 46 on the front nine but rebounded in a big way on the back nine, shooting a 38 to finish his round 14-over par with an 84. Suitter finished the round with three birdies, recording birdies on the third, 16th, and 18th holes.

First-year Andrew Oliver (Lincoln, Maine) was the fourth Beaver to contribute to the team score, finishing in 39th place after shooting a 29-over-par 99. Oliver shot a 53 on the front nine and a 46 on the back nine.
