Men’s Golf Takes 9th at Mariner Invitational

MANCHESTER, Maine - The University of Maine at Farmington men's golf team finished ninth on Tuesday at the Mariners Invitational hosted by Maine Maritime Academy at the Augusta Country Club. The top-four scorers for the Beavers combined to a shoot 346 (+66) in their ninth place effort.

Husson University claimed the team title, finishing with a team score of 288 (+8). Southern Maine finished second with a 303 (+23), while the University of New England placed third with a 309 (+29).

Juan Hernandez of Husson earned medalist honors, finishing one-over par with a 71.

Beaver Golfers:

Sophomore Caleb Harvey (Bath, Maine) led the Beavers on Tuesday, finishing tied for 12th overall with a seven-over par 77. Harvey finished his round with a pair of birdies on his card, birdying the ninth and 18th holes. He shot a 39 on the front nine and a 38 on the back.

Sophomore Gage Suitter (Bath, Maine) finished tied for 23rd overall, carding an 81 (+11). Suitter had a similar front nine to Harvey, finishing with a 39 after earning a par on six of the nine holes. He went on to shoot a 42 on the back, carding five more pars.

Junior Trent Beaudoin (Farmington, Maine) finished tied for 42nd overall, shooting a 91 (+21). Beaudoin bounced back on the back nine, finishing with a 41 on the way in after shooting a 50 on the front nine.

Junior Kyle Ingalls (Bowdoin, Maine) finished 44th overall with a 97 (+27) as the Beavers fourth golfer to score. Ingalls shot a 48 on the front and a 49 on the back nine.

Junior Jackson Forrest (Portland, Maine) placed 45th overall with a 98 (+28), carding a 51 on the front nine and 47 on the back. He did not score as the Beavers' fifth golfer.

UP NEXT

Farmington's next match will be next Tuesday as the will compete in the SMCC Invitational at Purpoodock Golf Club.
