FARMINGTON -- The University of Maine at Farmington field hockey team had eight different players score a goal as the top-seeded Beavers dispatched No. 8 Elms College 12-0 in North Atlantic Conference quarterfinal action on Saturday at Prescott Field.
The Beavers ran their record to 11-5 and are scheduled to host No. 5 Lasell College (8-10) in semifinal action on Tuesday. The Blazers ended their season at 2-15.
Kristen Chambers (Gorham, ME), Hattie Agnew (Guilford, ME) and Emma Deans (Gorham, ME) each scored a pair of goals for Farmington with Renee Trafton (Corinth, ME) and Alyssa St. Pierre (Jay, ME) each adding a goal and an assist and Ashley Wentworth (North Berwick, ME), Amanda Fortin (Jefferson, ME), Ashley Weeks (Wilton, ME) and Nicole Lyons (Cape Elizabeth, ME) each chipping in a goal.
Kaeleigh Barker (Chichester, NH) and Sarah Brown (Windham, ME) shared netminding duties for the Beavers with Barker stopping two shots. Farmington held 43-2 command in shots and took 20 penalty corners.
Katelyn Wasgatt (Worcester, MA) recorded 19 saves for Elms.
