Box Score WATERVILLE -- The University of Maine at Farmington field hockey team was handed a 5-1 setback in non-conference competition against Colby College tonight at Bill Alfond Field.
Erika Lucas (Augusta, ME) notched the lone goal for the Beavers, who dropped to 5-4 and are scheduled to take on St. Joseph's College at home on Saturday.
Heather Quadir (Medfield, MA) continued her torrid scoring pace with two goals and two assists for the Mules, who improved to 3-4. Quadir has nine goals and six assists for 24 points in her last five games. Meanwhile, teammate Meryl Poulin (Cape Elizabeth, ME) added one goal and one assist and is up to four goals and five assists for 13 points.
The Beavers scored first about six minutes into the game when Lucas tallied.
Quadir helped the Mules earn a 2-1 lead at halftime with a goal and an assist. She tallied at 21:51 of the half off a pass from Lexi Crook (South Burlington, Vt.) and then assisted on Poulin's goal about four minutes later.
Colby back Caroline Duke notched her second career goal to give the Mules some breathing room. Mollie Kimmel (Madison, CT) assisted on the goal with 11:07 remaining.
Quadir got her second goal from Poulin at 62:51 and then assisted on the first collegiate goal for Sally Klose (McLean, Va.) with just 2:50 to play.
Kaeleigh Barker (Chichester, NH) stopped 12 shots in the loss.
