Field hockey turned back at Husson

BANGOR -- The University of Maine at Farmington field hockey team was blanked by Husson University 4-0 in non-conference action this evening.

The Beavers, who beat the Eagles 2-1 in their North Atlantic Conference contest earlier this season, slipped to 7-6. The Beavers are scheduled to visit Thomas College on Wednesday. Husson improved to 4-7.

The Beavers (0-2) are scheduled to return to action on Wednesday when they host Endicott College. The game is slated for a 4 p.m. start.

After a scoreless first half, Sarah Hessert got the Eagles on the board by scoring off a Jillian Morin pass on a corner. Five minutes later Courtney Allen added another goal for the Eagles, assisted by Erica Dorso.  With ten minutes left Dorso put the game away with a score off a Morin pass. Krystal Doughty scored the last goal of the game on a laser shot just inside the circle on a corner. The assist went to Dorso.

Kaeleigh Barker (Chichester, NH) made nine saves on 19 shots in the loss.

Kara Voisine recorded the shutout for the Eagles, making four saves on seven shots.
