Box Score WATERVILLE -- The University of Maine at Farmington women's soccer team slipped to 4-5-1 with a 4-0 non-conference loss to Colby College this afternoon.
The Beavers are scheduled to host Husson University in a North Atlantic Conference match Saturday at 3:15 p.m.
Marissa Simmons (Chestnut Hill, Mass.) scored two goals and added one assist for Colby (3-2-3), while first-year forward Emily Anderson (Grafton, Mass.) scored her first collegiate goal.
Simmons scored her first goal at 19:36 in a play that started off a corner kick. The ball was knocked out to defender Kat McCarrick (Wellesley, Mass), who quickly pushed the ball through the middle to Simmons on the left side of the goal. Simmons made it 2-0 at intermission when she scored with 7:19 to play off an assist from Annie Papadellis (Hopkinton, Mass.).
Simmons picked up an easy assist when she found Kate Pistel (Amherst, Mass.) about 30 yards away from the goal. Pistel unloaded on a shot for her first goal of the season. The Mules closed out the scoring when Emily Anderson (Grafton, Mass.) had her first collegiate goal with 17:50 left in the game.
Senior goalkeeper Loni Pisani (Kanata, Canada), making her first appearance of the season after coming into the year with an injury, made four saves for the Colby shutout.
Crystal Johnson (Cornville, Maine) also stopped four shots for Farmington.
