Box Score BANGOR -- Third-seeded University of Maine at Farmington lost to No. 2 Husson University 5-0 in the North Atlantic Conference field hockey semifinals this afternoon.
The Beavers finished their season at 12-6. The Eagles (9-5) advance to the NAC final against top-seeded St. Joseph's College Saturday in Standish.
Carolyn Bochtler netted a hat trick for the Eagles, scoring two of her three goals off corners. Lorri Hiltz added a goal and an assist in the win with Helen Berry providing two assists and Sabrina Vaillancourt one goal.
Despite the scoring disparity, the Beavers and Eagles each fired off 19 shots. Farmington held a 6-4 edge in penalty corners taken.
Vaillancourt scored off a Hiltz pass and Bochtler scored an unassisted marker to give Husson a 2-0 lead at halftime.
Fifty seconds into the second half, Bochtler tallied her second goal from Berry to push the lead to 3-0. Hiltz notched an unassisted score at 40:25 for the 4-0 advantage and Bochtler and Berry connected again with just under 11 minutes to play to finish off the 5-0 win.
Sarah Brown (Windham, Maine) made nine saves for the Beavers.
Kristen Capen stopped 10 shots for Husson.
