BANGOR -- The University of Maine at Farmington baseball team dropped a North Eastern Athletic Conference East Division twinbill to Husson University 6-0, 4-3 today.

Farmington (0-6 overall, 0-4 in the NEAC East) is scheduled to return to action Wednesday at Bates College for a single nine-inning game. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m. Husson improved its record to 11-10 (4-0 NEAC East).

Pitching was the story for Husson all weekend as Ryan Arsenault (Portland, ME) paced the Eagles with a complete game, two-hit shutout in game one Sunday. Arsenault only allowed three Beavers on base while collecting five strikeouts and dropping his ERA to 4.05 on the season.

Farmington starter Connor McNeill (Portland, ME) allowed 9 hits and 5 earned runs as first baseman Chris Maguire (Orland, ME) led the Eagles on offense going 2-3 with three RBI and two runs, including a two-out, two-run double in the third inning to put Husson on the board. In the fifth, Maguire doubled again, scoring Ethan Guerette (Wales, ME) and scored on the next play, putting the Eagles up 6-0.

Matt Levine (Pelham, NH) doubled for the Beavers, while Brian Morrison (Saco, ME) singled.

In game two, Kyle Leeman (Bangor, ME) gave a strong outing for Husson going 6.2 innings, giving up three runs, all in the seventh, on six hits. Leeman also struck out five lowering his season ERA to 7.36.

The Beavers did not go away easily in the seventh inning of game two scoring all three runs on five of the six hits Leeman relinquished. With two outs, Husson pitcher Dan Beatham (Dexter, ME) struck out Levine to seal the victory.

Morrison went the distance in the loss with one walk and six strikeouts.

Kyle Shea (Bar Harbor, ME) singled twice and drove in a run for Farmington.
