Box Score 2 STANDISH -- The University of Maine at Farmington baseball team dropped a non-conference doubleheader to St. Joseph's College 14-3, 13-5 today at Larry Mahaney Diamond.
The Beavers remained winless at 0-9 with a trip to Colby College scheduled for Wednesday. The nine-inning game is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. The Monks improved to 14-7.
In game one, the Monks plated 12 runs over the first three innings en route to the win.
Todd Keneborus clubbed a single and two doubles to knock in five runs for St. Joseph's, while Chris Campbell, Ben Grant-Roy, Eric Labatte and Pat Moran each drove in two runs.
Matt Mullen walked one and struck out five in five innings to earn the win.
Bill Ridge (South Portland, ME) took the loss for Farmington with 12 hits allowed, one walk and one strikeout over 2.2 innings.
The Beavers were limited to four hits, including an RBI single by Kyle Shea (Bar Harbor, ME).
In game two, the Monks amassed a 13-0 lead before the Beavers were able to get on the board.
Labatte and Moran each slugged a home run and drove in three runs to pace St. Joseph's.
Kevin Chamberlain tossed five innings of two-hit ball in the victory.
Shea singled and collected three RBI in the loss, while Matt Levine (Pelham, NH) picked up a pair of hits.
Brian Morrison (Saco, ME) was hit with the loss with 12 hits allowed and a strikeout over 3.2 innings. Connor McNeill (Portland, ME) shined in relief with 2.1 shutout innings.
