Box Score FARMINGTON, Maine -- In their final regular-season home game, three seniors handled the goal scoring as the University of Maine at Farmington blanked Colby-Sawyer College 5-0 in North Atlantic Conference action this afternoon at Prescott Field.
The Beavers (7-6 overall, 6-2 NAC) are scheduled to face NAC foe Thomas College in a non-conference tilt on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. The Chargers (3-10, 1-5) are slated to host New England College in NAC action Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
Jessica Martin (Winthrop, Maine) notched a hat trick to lead the Beavers, while Sara Lane (Hiram, Maine) pitched in with a goal and two assists and Kaleigh Chase (Wells, Maine) added a goal. Chase, Martin and Lane along with classmates Jennifer Bernhardt (Vassalboro, Maine), Monica Beuth (Wyoming, R.I.) and Samantha Webster (Dixfield, Maine) were honored prior to the contest. Bernhardt also collected a pair of assists.
UMF struck for three goals in the first 10:41 as Lane finished off a Bernhardt feed at 1:13 and Martin followed with a pair of tallies for a 3-0 lead. Martin punched in a Lane pass at 28:49 to complete her hat trick and give the hosts a 4-0 halftime command.
Chase put in her first goal of the season from Lily Barry (Hermon, Maine) off a penalty corner at 49:45 for the 5-0 final.
Curran Brierley (East Hampton, N.Y.) and Felisha Taylor (Chelsea, Maine) each worked a half in goal for UMF with a save apiece.
Colleen O'Hurley recorded eight saves for Colby-Sawyer, which was outshot 17-2. The Beavers also held a 14-3 advantage in penalty corners.
