Box Score 2 LYNN, Mass. -- The University of Maine at Farmington fell 4-3, 3-2 to Fisher College in a non-conference baseball doubleheader today.
The Beavers (0-7), who had a game Sunday against Lasell College canceled, are scheduled to visit Colby College Wednesday for a single contest at 4 p.m. Fisher snapped an 18-game skid with its first two wins of the season.
In the first game, the Falcons pushed across a pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to take the 4-3 win.
Farmington had taken a 3-2 edge in the top half of the seventh with Brian Jenkins (Gorham, Maine) singled home Connor McNeill (Portland, Maine).
Josh Garneau (South Portland, Maine) and Matt Levine (Pelham, N.H.) each singled and drove in a run for the Beavers.
Sebastiano Petruzzelli doubled with two RBI in the victory.
Will Griffiths (Mechanic Falls, Maine) took the loss for Farmington with a walk and two hits allowed in a third of an inning of relief. Brandon Gallagher (Cumberland, Maine) worked the first six innings with five hits allowed, two walks and two strikeouts.
Andrew Hurd snatched the win, recording one out in the seventh.
In the second game, Fisher scored three runs over the first four innings and held on to dispatch the Beavers 3-2.
Ian McAlister (South Berwick, Maine) singled twice and plated a run for Farmington, while Garneau and Zach Keene (Livermore, Maine) each had a base hit.
Reynaldo Nunez doubled for Fisher with Michael Flynn and Davidson Pequero each singled and drove in a run.
Casey Ashey (Searsport, Maine) went the distance in the loss, scattering seven hits with two walks and three strikeouts.
Kevin Micheal tossed a four-hitter in the win with a walk and three punchouts.
