VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. --The University of Maine at Farmington softball team fell to Franklin & Marshall College 10-2 and Virginia Wesleyan College 21-0 at the final day of the VWC Beach Blast today.

Both games went five innings due to the eight-run rule.

The Beavers (0-4) are scheduled to take on Wilkes University at 11 a.m. Sunday for a doubleheader at Virginia Wesleyan.

Against F&M, the Diplomats took advantage of eight walks in rolling to a 10-2 victory over the Beavers.

Amy Jones (Augusta, Maine) doubled in the loss, while Lily Barry (Hermon, Maine) and Kaitlyn Bartlett (Chesterville, Maine) each had an RBI single.

Emma Vaillancourt (Saco, Maine) was hit with the loss for Farmington.

Against VWC, the Beavers were routed by the host Marlins 21-0.

Barry had the lone hit for Farmington.

Anna Piggott (Manchester, Conn.) was handed the losing decision for the Beavers.
