Box Score FARMINGTON, Maine -- Erin Bibber (Charlton, Mass.) netted the game-winner with 5:49 left in regulation as University of New England remained unbeaten with a 2-1 win over the University of Maine at Farmington in non-conference competition this afternoon at Prescott Field.
The Beavers (4-3) are scheduled to visit Saint Joseph's College of Maine in North Atlantic Conference action on Saturday at noon. The Nor'easters (10-0) are set to visit Gordon College Saturday at 1 p.m. in Commonwealth Coast Conference play.
Bibber's goal, a strong individual effort in front of the goalmouth, broke a 1-1 stalemate at 64:11. The unassisted score was Bibber's first of the season.
After surviving 11 penalty corners by the opposition in the opening half (five in the first 10 minutes), the Beavers were unable to weather the Nor'Easters' first corner of the second half as Emily Koehler (Pelham, N.H.) gave UNE a 1-0 edge at 36:22. UNE finished with an 18-8 command in corners.
UMF's Kaitlyn Bullen (Farmington, Maine) tied the game at 1-1 at 57:31 when the sophomore struck for her sixth goal of the season with Kashley Weymouth (Pittston, Maine) registering the assist.
Kaitlyn Warren (Boscawen, N.H.) turned back seven UMF shots in the victory. Warren endured a just-wide bid by Annie Agnew (Guilford, Maine) and a Weymouth offering in the final five minutes to secure the win.
Curran Brierley (East Hampton, N.Y.) stopped nine UNE shots for the Beavers. Six of Brierley's saves came in the scoreless first half.
