LYNDONVILLE, Vt. – After outscoring Lyndon State, 20-3, on Sunday, the University of Maine at Farmington baseball team (12-6, 5-5) split a doubleheader with the Hornets on Thursday afternoon in conference action at Skip Pound Field. The Beavers took game one, 10-5,  but fell in game two, 1-0.

Lyndon took a, 1-0, with an RBI double in the first inning, but UMF bounced back with five runs in the second inning. The rally started with an RBI single from Sean Cabaniss (Vassalboro, Maine) and then Tom Grady (Whitefield, Maine) drew a bases-loaded walk. Jimmy Neal (Farmington, Maine) singled home two Beavers and then Grayson Beressi (Falmouth, Maine) got in the pitcher's head and forced a balk, which allowed Neal to come home from third.

A pair of two-run doubles gave the Beavers their run total for the game. Jordan Croteau (So. Paris, Maine) lifted a double in the fourth inning and then Grady drove in two more runs with a double in the fifth.

Cabaniss had a strong showing at the plate in the first game with three hits in five at-bats, and scored a run.
