Box Score

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. -- University of Maine at Farmington (1-0) sophomore LeeAnne Greenleaf (Gardiner, Maine/Gardiner) recorded her first two career goals on Saturday as the Beavers picked up a 3-0 win over non-conference opponent Framingham State.

The game was scoreless for nearly the entire opening half until Greenleaf found the back of the cage with six minutes remaining. The sophomore hit the one-timer from the left corner with the assist coming from Mara Balboni (Oakland, Maine/Messalonskee).

Greenleaf doubled the Beavers' lead with another goal early in the second half. UMF took advantage of a penalty corner as Sarita Crandall (Farmington, Maine/Mt. Blue) passed to her left to Greenleaf, who hit another one-timer for the score.

UMF tallied its final goal of the game three minutes later when Emmah Spahr (Winthrop, Maine/Winthrop) charted her first goal of the season with Crandall getting credited with another assist.

Patty Smith (Gorham, Maine/Gorham) stopped all five shots on goal for her first win of the season. Framingham State's Rosemary Talbot recorded 12 saves on the afternoon.

UMaine-Farmington will stay in Massachusetts and play Wheelock on Sunday at 12:00 p.m.
