Box Score CASTINE, Maine - University of Maine at Farmington women's soccer (7-8-0, 5-2-0) was shutout by Maine Maritime (7-6-1, 4-3-0) in a North Atlantic Conference match-up on Wednesday.
UMF held the advantage in total shots, 16-13 but was unable to find the back of the net. Maine Maritime held a slim advantage in shots on goal 5-4 and also corners 3-2.
Freshman Eryn Doiron was able to get the Mariners on the board first scoring in the 11th minute. Maine Maritime added another goal just before halftime, Oliva Paquette scored at 43:47 to give the Mariners a 2-0 lead at the break.
Any hopes of a comeback were dashed when Briana Obshatkin scored in the 79th minute giving Maine Maritime the final margin of victory 3-0.
Kiana Thompson (Industry, Maine/Mt. Blue) saved two shots in the loss. Maggie McConkey saved all four shots she faced on goal to secure the win.
UMaine-Farmington will continue NAC play hosting Colby-Sawyer on Saturday. Maine Maritime will host Green Mountain also on Saturday.
