Gordon's Early First Half Goal Sinks Women's Soccer

Box Score

FARMINGTON, Maine – University of Maine at Farmington women's soccer (2-4-0) could not recover from an early first half goal with a 1-0 non-conference loss to Gordon College (3-2-1) on Tuesday afternoon at Leib Field.

Lexi Potter was able to dribble into the center of the box and avoid UMF goalie Kiana Thompson (Industry, Maine/Mt. Blue) to score the unassisted goal in the 11th minute. The score was Potter's first career goal.

UMF's best chance came in the first half when Haley Murano (Brunswick, Maine/Brunswick) was able to put a header on goal, but Kali Denty (3-1) was able to make her only save of the game.

Thompson was able to keep the Beavers alive by making five saves on the day.

UMaine-Farmington returns to action on Saturday with a visit from Husson University.
