Beavers Lose to Pilgrims on the Road

Henniker, N.N. – UMaine Farmington fell to New England College on Saturday afternoon by a score of 5-0 on Don Melander Field in the last weekend of North Atlantic Conference regular season action.

BY THE NUMBERS
NEC outshot the Beavers 41-6 with 23 shots in the first half and 18 in the second half as Farmington shot only six shots in the second half. UMF had 14 saves on the day while the Pilgrims had five.  The Beavers had one corner kick while NEC had six.

HOW IT HAPPENED

New England College got on the board first in the opening two minutes when Michaela Pomeroy took a shot off the left foot after Leeann Demirjian passed one into the middle an beat the keeper left side. Five minutes later, Nicole Cotrone scored after a free kick from about 30 yards out.

Jaycie Trandafilou scored her seventh goal of the year after Emily LePage passed one from the right post across the goal and LePage beat the keeper to the left side. Midway through the second half, Jaycie Triandafilou scored her eighth goal of the year to give the Pilgrims a 5-0 victory.

The Beavers will play Colby-Sawyer tomorrow at 12:00 p.m. for the last regular season game of the year.
