Beavers Split Double-Header with Chargers

New London, N.H. – UMaine Farmington split with Colby-Sawyer on Sunday afternoon with a loss in game one by a score of 2-1 and a win in game two by a score of 12-3 in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action on Kelsey Field.

RECORDS
The Beavers move to 3-18 on the year and 3-9 in conference play while the Chargers moved to 18-11 overall and 10-5 in the NAC.

Game One

IN THE BOX

The Beavers had six different players get a hit, Trevor Hisler, Mark Leahy, Derek Bown, Jordan Croteau, Taylor Lockhart and Riley Chickering.

Chickering went 1-2 with an RBI while Leahy went 1-3 with a run. Trevor Hisler, Mark Leahy and Taylor Lockhart each had a double in the 2-1 loss.

Mark Leahy thre six innings, giving up five hits, two runs, one earned with two walks and two strikeouts. Ryan Glendye was awarded the win after throwing seven innings, giving up six hits, one run with one walk and six strikeouts.

Justin Devoid led the Chargers with two hits and a run while Doug Avellino, Tim Unczur and Connor Henry each added a hit.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Nathan Frongillo grounded into a double play which allowed Doug Avellino to score in the bottom of the first inning. In the top of the first, Chickering flied out to left for the SAC fly which scored Mark Leahy.

The Chargers scored their second run in the bottom of the fourth when Justin Devoid scored on a wild pitch.

Game Two

Derek Bowen led the Beavers in hitting with two hits in three trips to go along with an RBI and a run while Riley Chickering went 2-4 with two RBI's and two runs. Taylor Lockhart went 1-4 with three RBI's and a run. Jordan Croteau added two RBI's.

Gavin Arsenault started on the mound for the Beavers, throwing five innings, giving up seven hits and three earned runs. Patrick Fallon threw one inning along with Chad Snowman who threw one inning.

Connor Henry started for the Chargers, throwing 2.1 innings, giving up nine hits, nine earned runs with two strikeouts.

Liam De la Blotier went 2-3 while Austin Butler went 1-3 with an RBI.
