Box Score 2 Waterville, Maine – UMaine Farmington softball split a twin bill with Colby on Wednesday afternoon with a 10-11 loss in game one and a 2-0 win in game two in non-conference action.
Game 1
Kiana Thompson led the Beavers in hitting with three hits on four at-bats while Alison Hamilton went 3-5 with two runs and one RBI.
Kylie Cunningham went and Elizabeth Walker both went 2-4 with a total of three runs. The Beavers tallied 15 hits with 10 runs.
Brianna McGrath was tagged with the loss while pitching three innings, giving up 13 hits, seven earned runs with one walk. Anastasia Albright three and two thirds innings, giving up six hits with four earned runs with three walks and three strikeouts.
Robin Spofford went 3-3 with four runs for the Mules while Carly Swartz went 4-5 with two runs and one RBI. Skylar Labbe went 3-4 with four RBI's. Ella Hommeyer and Julia Saul each had a homerun while Saul was tagged as the winning pitcher.
Saul threw 5.2 innings, giving up nine hits, seven earned runs with four strikeouts. Lucie Cunningham and Wiley Holton threw 1.1 innings combined, giving up six hits, three earned runs and two strikeouts.
Game 2
The Beavers tallied seven hits in game two with seven different players each getting a hit. Kylie Cunningham went 1-2 with an RBI, a run and a walk while Bonnie-Jane Aiken went 1-3 with an RBI.
Kailyn Hill was tagged with the win. Hill threw seven scoreless innings, giving up eight hits and one walk while striking out seven.
Robin Spofford went 2-4 for the Mules while Grace Farnkoff went 2-3. Wiley Holton was given the loss as Holton threw seven innings giving up seven hits, two earned runs with two walks and four strikeouts.
The Beavers scored their first run in the top of the second when Aiken singled to score Cunningham. Their second run came in the top of the fifth inning when Cunningham singled up the middle to score Kiana Thompson.
