HOW IT HAPPENED

UMaine-Farmington managed to tie the contest between the two 2016 NCAA tournament qualifiers in the 51st minute when senior Sarita Crandall scored off a penalty corner.

In regulation, Saint Joseph's found the scoreboard at the 15:50 mark when junior Kayla Kelly slammed in a loose ball following a scrum in front of the net. Senior Elyse Caiazzo was credited with an assist on the play.

Late in the second overtime, Alyssa Arsenault made a save but the ball got stuck under her which gave the Monks a penalty stroke. Hayley Winslow stepped to the mark to take the stroke. Winslow put the ball high, glove side. Arsenault put the glove on it, but it hit the post and bounced into the back of the net.
