Box Score Castleton, Vt. – UMaine-Farmington's women's soccer team dropped a non-conference game to Castleton University on Sunday afternoon by a final score of 3-2.
BY THE NUMBERS
- The Beavers were outshot 26-6 on the day with three shots in each half for the Beavers while UMF had 12 saves to the Spartans two.
- The Spartans had five corner kicks as Farmington had two.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Makenzie Bellando scored her eighth goal of the season on a putback to start the scoring for the Spartans. Julia Carone scored the second goal at the 20th-minute mark on a cross from Bronwen Hopwood.
- Bellando scored her second goal after Carone took a shot that bounced off the crossbar.
- McKenna Brodeur scored her first goal of the game from twenty yards out to the upper left corner to make the score 3-1 going into the half.
- Brodeur scored her second goal of the game in the second half after a one on one with the goalie and beat the goalie to the right side.
