Field Hockey Drops Close Contest to Manhattanville

LEICESTER, Mass. - UMaine-Farmington field hockey dropped a hard-fought contest to Manhattanville 3-1 in a New England Collegiate Conference game played at Becker College. UMF grabbed a 1-0 lead early in the third quarter, but Manhattanville responded with three unanswered goals to secure their fifth conference win.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • After a scoreless first half, Junior Kasey Talarico scored off the only penalty corner the Beavers received.  Emily Tolman assisted on the play.
  • Robin Boot responded with a goal off a scramble in front of the cage to tie the game.
  • Ameerah Thomas score twice in the fourth to put the game out of reach for UMF

INSIDE THE BOX

  • Manhattanville held a 17-5 advantage in shots, 15 of the 17 in the second half.  The Valiant also had a 15-1 edge in penalty corners.
  • First-year goalie Katelyn Rouleau made seven saves and was tabbed with the loss in the cage.
  • Zoe Fillebrown made one save in earning the win.

UP NEXT

UMF will play in its home opener on Tuesday as they host Husson in a conference contest starting at 3:00 pm.
