Bessey Scores Twice as Beavers Win in OT

Farmington, Maine – UMaine-Farmington's field hockey team won an overtime thriller against Elms College on Saturday afternoon to close out the regular season with a 2-1 victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Alex Bessey broke the 0-0 tie 10 minutes into the second half after Kasey Talarico had a solid pass for Bessey to finish it off for a 1-0 lead.
  • Midway through the fourth quarter, Carissa Ramirez tied the game at one with an unassisted goal.
  • Early into the overtime, Alex Bessey scored her second goal of the game to give the Beavers a 2-1 OT victory.
  • Katelyn Rouleau made one save as Nora Newman made four saves.

UP NEXT

The Beavers will wait for the NECC regular season to end on Tuesday to find out who they will play for playoffs.
