Field Hockey Wins in Conference Opener Over Dean

FRANKLIN, Mass. - UMaine-Farmington field hockey won its conference opener 11-0 over Dean College.  Junior Alex Bessey scored four goals and assisted on another, freshman Emily Tolman scored three goals, and junior Kasey Talarico added two goals and an assist.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Gracie Foss got UMF on the board first, scoring just over four minutes into the game.
  • Bessey and Tolman added goals in the first quarter.
  • UMF scored five times in the second quarter to take an 8-0 lead at halftime.
  • Tolman scored twice in the 3rd
  • Mya Daniels added a goal in the 4th to finish the scoring for UMF

INSIDE THE BOX

  • UMF outshot Dean 44-0 and held the advantage in penalty corners 18-0
  • Katelyn Rouleau didn't have to record a save in earning the win in goal
  • Dean goalie, Alexis Masse made 16 saves on the day

UP NEXT

UMF travels to Brunswick to take on Bowdoin College in non-conference action on Wednesday, October 9th at 6:00 pm.
