Gorham, Maine - UMaine-Farmington's softball team opened their season with a doubleheader against the University of Southern Maine on Wednesday afternoon.

Game One (L, 3-0)

• Leah Stevens, Kayleigh Oberg, and Callie Hammer each notched a hit for the Beavers.
• Broghan Gagnon started in the circle, going two innings, giving up two hits and no runs. Maddelyn Souza threw four innings, giving up seven hits and two earned runs.
• Madison Day and Leidemann-Smith each notched an RBI for the Huskies while Kristen Pelletier threw seven innings, giving up three hits with six strikeouts.

Game Two (L, 14-0)

• Kayleigh Oberg led the Beavers with two hits in two at-bats while Emily Smith went 1-1. 
• Maddlelyn Souza threw four innings, giving up 16 hits, 14 runs with six of them earned with one strikeout. 
• Ashley Tinsman led the Huskies at the plate, going 2-4 with two runs and four RBI's while Kaitlyn Nelson went 2-3 with two RBI's and two runs.
• Erin Martin, Alexis Brown, Jazmin Clary, Madison Day, and Belle Snyder each notched one RBI for the Huskies.
