Farmington, Maine - UMaine-Farmington's baseball team played a nine-inning game on Thursday afternoon against Husson University in the opening week of North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play for the Beavers.

IN THE BOX

• The Beavers tallied a total of eight hits with Andrew Hopkins notching two of them. Danny Terhune, Riley Bartell, and Jordi Valls each notched one hit.
• Troy Johnson, Ryan Simard, and Jonny Pruett each added a hit of their own.
• Aaron Goschke started on the mound for the Beavers, going five innings, giving up six hits and five earned runs with seven strikeouts.
• Ryan Pratt threw one shutout inning, followed by TJ Dorn who threw one inning, giving up two hits and one earned run. Cal Tibbits and Brice Springer each threw a scoreless inning. 
• Brandon Smith led the Eagles in hitting, going 2-4 with four RBI's and three runs. Jackson Curtis added a 3-5 day with three RBI's.
• Chris Ewanik went 1-4 with an RBI and a run.
• Harrison Lendrum threw four innings, giving up three hits with two strikeouts, Chris Naylor threw two innings while Jake Gregoire, Ryan Robb, Jesse Colford each threw one inning.

The Beavers will travel to Bangor for a doubleheader on Saturday against the Eagles followed by a doubleheader on Sunday at home.
