Box Score 2 BEVERLY, Massachusetts – The University of Maine at Farmington softball team was dropped two games in a non-conference doubleheader at Endicott College on Sunday, falling to the Gulls 12-1 in the first game and 9-1 in game two.
UMaine-Farmington (1-7) plated its only run of game one in the top of the first inning when Leah Stevens crossed on an Endicott error at second base on Christa Allen's two-out grounder.
Endicott came back with a 10-run bottom half of the first, fueled by Christina Nowicki's grand slam home run to center field. That was followed later in the frame by a two-run homer to right-center by Raven Comtois.
Nowicki singled home both Endicott runs in the bottom of the second inning, extending the Gulls' lead to 12-1.
In game two, Endicott plated four runs in the bottom of the first inning, including a two-run home run by Comtois. Katie Watts homered to left-center for two more runs in the bottom of the second.
The Beavers' lone run came home in the fourth inning. Stevens got aboard on a lead-off walk and eventually stole home on a double-steal with Makayla Wilson.
UMaine-Farmington softball returns to action on Friday, April 1, when it travels to Nashua, New Hampshire, to face Rivier University in a doubleheader. Game time is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
