Box Score 2 MYRTLE Beach, S.C. - The University of Maine at Farmington softball team dropped both ends of their doubleheader on Monday. The 1st game was against Fairleigh Dickinson-Florham and game two was against Jefferson University. The Beavers dropped game one 10-0 and game two 11-0.
Game One
The Devils opened up the bottom of the 1st inning with a double from Kristen Tigar and a bunt single from Heather Priante that scored Tigar. Kacie Centineo wrapped an RBI single scoring Priante to give the Devils an early 2-0 lead.
Bella Miller (Lewiston, Maine) singled through the left side to give the Beavers their 1st hit of the game in the top of the 2nd. Carleigh Schievink (Charlestown, Mass.) kept the Devils scoreless in the bottom of the 2nd but surrendered a pair of runs in the bottom of the 3rd. Priante led off with a triple and then scored on a sacrifice fly from Kristina Pelano. Centineo doubled and then scored on an RBI single from Colleen Conway.
Maddie Pike (Kennebunk, Maine) roped a double in the top of the 4th but was stranded on base.
Grace Martin (Marblehead, Mass.) took over on the rubber for Schievink in the bottom of the 4th, surrendering six runs, including five earned to make it 10-0.
The Beavers were unable to score in the top of the 5th to extend the game.
Game Two
The Beavers dropped game two 11-0 at the hands of the Jefferson Rams. The Beavers fell behind early, giving up seven runs in the 1st inning. The Rams recorded seven hits in the inning.
Olivia Paradis (Saco, Maine) recorded the first hit of the game for the Beavers in the 2nd inning when she singled to shortstop.
The Rams tacked on a pair of runs in the 2nd innings, including a homerun from Sam Gomez to make it 8-0. Winnai Hoyt scored later in the inning to make it 9-0 Rams.
Katie Hammer (Ellsworth, Maine) and Kiley Merritt (Lisbon Falls, Maine) ripped line drives singles to pick up the 2nd and 3rd base hits of the game for the Beavers in the 3rd inning.
The Rams scored single runs in the 3rd and the 4th inning to increase their lead to 11-0.

The Beavers return to action on Wednesday in a doubleheader against Plattsburgh State and Keene State. Game one with begin at 1 pm.
