Beavers Place Four the the Top-Six in NAC Preview Meet

BANGOR, Maine The University of Maine at Farmington men's cross country team had four runners finish inside the top six as the reigning North Atlantic Conference (NAC) champions cruised to victory at the 2025 NAC Championship Preview Meet hosted by Husson University.

The Beavers tallied 27 points en route to their first-place finish, with their top five runners combining for a total time of 2:21:40. Maine Maritime Academy finished second with 45 points, followed by Thomas College in third with 51 points. Husson University placed fourth (122 points), the University of Maine at Presque Isle took fifth (136 points), and Central Maine Community College rounded out the field in sixth (150 points).

Beaver Runners


Farmington was led by junior Andrew LaFlamme (Nashua, N.H.), who continued his impressive season by taking first place overall. LaFlamme dominated the field, completing the 8K course in 26:49.6, 23 seconds ahead of runner-up William Spaulding of Maine Maritime. LaFlamme averaged 5:23.8 per mile.

Senior James Riley (Shrewsbury, Mass.) was the second Beaver to cross the finish line, placing fourth overall in the 49-runner field. Riley clocked a time of 27:49.2, averaging 5:35.8 per mile.

Sophomores Alex Gagnon (Goffstown, N.H.) and Samuel Perkins (Jay, Maine) placed fifth and sixth, respectively. Gagnon covered the 8K in 28:16.7 (5:41.3 per mile), while Perkins followed close behind in 28:39.2 (5:45.8 per mile).

Junior Ethan Linscott (Lakeville, Maine) rounded out UMF's scoring five with an 11th-place finish, running 30:06.0.

Junior Joe Burgess (New Gloucester, Maine) also competed for the Beavers, finishing 26th overall with a time of 33:26.3.

UP NEXT


The Beavers have one final tune-up before the North Atlantic Conference Championship on November 1. They will compete next Saturday at the James Earley Invitational, hosted by Westfield State University.
