MYRTLE BEACH, South Carolina - The University of Maine at Farmington women's track and field team traveled to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina to compete in the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational this week, opening their 2026 outdoor schedule.

In total, Farmington had four athletes compete over the three-day event, which kicked off on Thursday, March 19, and ran through Saturday, March 21.

Top Beaver Performances:

First-year Sadie Pierce (China, Maine) had the highest finish for the Beavers during the week, earning third place overall in the long jump. Pierce's best attempt was measured at 4.70 meters, just half an inch behind the first-place finisher in the event. She added a 13th-place finish in the triple jump after reaching 9.22 meters on her best attempt. Pierce also competed in the javelin, where she placed 34th with a throw of 20.98 meters.

First-year Heather Alexander (Orleans, Vt.) competed in the heptathlon, delivering one of the best performances in program history. Alexander compiled 3,175 points across the seven events, earning a 12th-place finish overall.

Sophomore Emma Syphers (Bangor, Maine) competed in a pair of events, earning ninth place in the triple jump and 51st in the long jump. Syphers reached 9.85 meters in the triple jump and 4.64 meters in the long jump.

Senior Kennedy Todd (Scarborough, Maine) also competed in two events, the 400 meters and the 200 meters. Todd placed sixth in the 400 meters and 73rd in a loaded 200-meter field. She finished the 400 meters in 1:05.62 and the 200 meters in 27.70 seconds.

The Beavers return north and will compete in the SNHU Spring Invite next Saturday.
