Vincent and Buchholz Notch MCBSA Weekly Honors

Written By; Jameson Bloch '26

FARMINGTON, Maine — University of Maine at Farmington junior first baseman Brady Vincent (Auburn, Maine) has been named Maine College Baseball and Softball Association (MCBSA) Player of the Week, while first-year pitcher William Buchholz (Maynard, Mass.) earned MCBSA Rookie of the Week honors.

Vincent has started the season with a hot bat for the Beavers and continued his strong play over the past week. On Monday, UMF squared off against Framingham State, where Vincent went 2-for-4 with an RBI in game one. In game two of the doubleheader, he truly filled up the stat sheet, reaching base in all four plate appearances with two doubles and two walks. He drove in runs on both hits, totaling four RBIs, and scored once.

The following day, the Beavers played two more games, beginning with a matchup against Wisconsin–Eau Claire. Vincent went 1-for-3 in the contest and drove in a run with a sacrifice fly. In game two against St. Joseph's (Brooklyn), Vincent displayed his power, tallying three hits in four at-bats—all for extra bases—with two doubles and one home run, totaling three RBIs. He also drew a walk and scored twice.

Over the course of the week, Vincent went 8-for-13 with one home run, four doubles, nine RBIs, three runs scored, and three walks. For the season, he leads the Beavers in multiple categories, including on-base plus slugging (1.357) and RBIs (13).

Buchholz made a brief appearance against Framingham State, pitching one-third of an inning without allowing a run. The following day, he earned the start against Wisconsin–Eau Claire, and his first start was memorable. He held the Blugolds to two runs—only one earned—while striking out two over six innings. Buchholz limited traffic on the bases, allowing just six runners to reach, and posted a WHIP of 1.00 for the game.

He finished the Florida trip with a 1.23 earned run average, which currently leads UMF.

UMF will open conference play against Lesley on Saturday at 12 p.m.
