Beavers Ranked 6th in the NAC Preseason Poll

WATERVILLE, Maine — The University of Maine at Farmington baseball team has been selected to finish sixth in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) for the 2026 season, according to the preseason poll voted on by conference coaches and announced today. Husson University received six first-place votes, while SUNY Cobleskill received one.

The Beavers will look to improve upon last season's performance after finishing with an overall record of 10–26 and a conference record of 4–13. Farmington returns six starters while losing six players to graduation.

Farmington returns junior outfielder Isaac Wrigley (Farmington, Maine) and senior utility player Jameson Bloch (Attleboro, Massachusetts) at the top of the lineup, as both started all 36 games last season. Wrigley leads all returners in batting average (.302), runs scored (30), and home runs (3), along with several other categories, and he looks to build upon his strong sophomore season. Bloch tied Wrigley in doubles last year with 11, which broke the single-season doubles record for Farmington.

Junior outfielder Matt Marquis (Monmouth, Maine), senior middle infielder Tyler Rosa (Morgan Hill, California), and junior catcher Colby Lewis (Blue Hill, Maine) also return to the lineup. Marquis will look to continue putting pressure on opposing defenses as he consistently puts the ball in play. Rosa is expected to handle shortstop for the majority of the games while building off the hot streak he finished last season with. Lewis will be behind the plate for the Beavers after a sophomore year in which he made 24 starts as part of the pitching battery.

Incoming juniors Brady Vincent (Auburn, Maine) and Hayden Durrell (Madrid, Maine) will look to carve out roles in the Beaver lineup. Vincent provides power potential after hitting three home runs for Central Maine Community College in his last season. Durrell brings strong on-base ability, boasting a .471 on-base percentage last season behind 42 hits, 18 walks, and 14 hit-by-pitches.

On the mound, the Beavers return NAC Second Team All-Conference pitcher Jameson Bloch, who posted a conference earned run average of 2.55. Bloch threw 29 innings last season while recording one win and two saves. Junior Gabe Philbrick (Florence, Montana) is expected to take on an increased role and build upon his sophomore season after pitching 13.1 innings. Senior Kyle Sawyer (Saco, Maine) and sophomore Maddox Santone (Fairfield, Maine) will come out of the bullpen looking to close out games for UMF.

Newcomers Brady Vincent, Max Bryan (Walpole, Massachusetts), Elie Timler (Jay, Maine), and William Buchholz (Maynard, Massachusetts) will also look to contribute as part of the Beavers' pitching rotation.

The Beavers will aim to secure a top-four finish in the conference to earn a spot in the NAC Tournament.
