Johnson Automatically Qualifies, Lutz and Todd Provisionally Qualify for New England Championships at Pine Tree Classic

LEWISTON, Maine - University of Maine at Farmington women's track and field athletes Erica Johnson (Nobleboro, Maine), Jenney Lutz (Lebanon, N.H.), and Kennedy Todd (Scarborough, Maine) each delivered standout performances at the Pine Tree Classic. Johnson automatically qualified for the New England Championship, while Lutz and Todd each provisionally qualified. As a team, the Beavers amassed 18 points and placed ninth overall at the event.

Top Beaver Performances;

Johnson delivered her best performance of the season in the triple jump. On her furthest attempt, she reached 11.06 meters to automatically qualify for the New England Championship. She placed third overall in the event and secured six points for the team.

Lutz and Todd each provisionally qualified for the New England Championship in the 200 meters, finishing just 0.11 seconds apart. Lutz earned seventh with a time of 26.70 seconds, while Todd posted a time of 26.81 seconds to place ninth overall.

Lutz also performed well in the 100 meters, narrowly missing a place inside the top ten, finishing 13th with a time of 13.00 seconds.

Senior Abby MacDonald (Bangor, Maine) earned a point by finishing eighth overall in the 400-meter hurdles. MacDonald posted a time of 1:41.81 in the event.

In the javelin, first-year Heather Alexander (Orleans, Vt.) placed fifth with a strong throw of 34.67 meters. Fellow first-year Ashley Roy (Turner, Maine) also placed inside the top ten after her best attempt was measured at 30.92 meters.

The Beavers' 4x100-meter relay team of Lutz, Alexander, Todd, and Johnson ran to a fourth-place finish in 52.56 seconds, earning five points.

UP NEXT

The Beavers will host the 2026 North Atlantic Conference Championships next weekend at the University of Maine. The two-day event is set to kick off on Saturday.
