WATERVILLE, Maine - On Tuesday evening, University of Maine at Farmington men's and women's track and field standouts Erica Johnson (Nobleboro, Maine) and Lucas Witkowski (Cromwell, Conn.) were honored by the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) as Track and Field Athletes of the Week after each delivered standout performances at the Pine Tree Championship this past weekend at Bates College.
Johnson was named the NAC Co-Field Athlete of the Week, while Witkowski was named the NAC Rookie of the Week.
Johnson delivered her best performance of the 2026 season on Saturday in the triple jump. On her longest attempt, she reached 11.06 meters, which automatically qualified her for the New England Championship in the event. She also placed third overall. Johnson was also a member of Farmington's 4x100-meter relay team, which placed fourth overall with a time of 52.56 seconds.
The award marks Johnson's first of the 2026 season.
Witkowski provisionally qualified for the New England Championship in the 400 meters after posting a time of 51.01 seconds. The time also earned him a fourth-place finish in the event.
The Rookie of the Week honor is the first of Witkowski's career.
