FARMINGTON -- Dottie Cameron (South Plainfield, N.J.) scooted home on a wild pitch to give Husson University an 11-10 win over the University of Maine at Farmington in North Atlantic Conference softball today at Prescott Field.

The game was called after five innings due to unplayable conditions. The second game of the doubleheader was postponed until Easter Sunday. The Beavers (9-16, 5-8) and Eagles (16-15, 9-2) are scheduled to meet at 3 p.m.

Cameron's scamper across home plate capped a wild affair between the NAC rivals. Her run stood as the winning score only after Husson centerfielder Lona Sargent (Sullivan, Maine) robbed UMF's Kaitlyn Bartlett (Chesterville, Maine) of a home run in the bottom half of the frame.

Cameron and Kelly Naegelin (Cohasset, Mass.) each clubbed a single and a double for Husson, while Amanda Gifford (Lee, Maine) and Sargent each drove in two runs with a hit.

Amanda Ryan (Brewer, Maine) grabbed the win in relief. The freshman walked one and struck out one in 1.1 innings.

Bartlett and Meaghan Donnell (Rochester, N.H.) each singled and doubled for UMF, while McKell Barnes (Durham, Maine) and Lily Barry (Hermon, Maine) each had a run-scoring hit.

Bartlett took the loss, allowing 11 hits with three walks and three strikeouts.

The Eagles scored five runs in the top of the first and led 6-3 after two frames, but the Beavers bounced back with five runs in the third. Barry's two-run single was the highlight of the outburst.

Husson strung together five hits and a UMF error to score four times in the fourth for a 10-8 lead. Donnell doubled home a run and scored on an error as the Beavers tied the game at 10-10 in the bottom of the inning.

Cameron led off the fifth with a double and moved to third on a groundout by Courtney Hill (Calais, Maine) before coming home on the wild pitch to give Husson the 11-10 final.
