FARMINGTON, Maine - The University of Maine at Farmington Department of Athletics is pleased to announce that four women's basketball players have been selected to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team the organization announced earlier this afternoon. Seniors Grace Dwyer (Manchester, Maine) and Sarah Poli (Benton, Maine) as well as sophomore Jessica Dow (Saco, Maine) and Melissa Mayo (Bridgton, Maine) make up the four selections for the Beavers.
In order to qualify for the CSC Academic All-District team, athletes must have played in 90 percent of their team's games or have started in 67% of those games while also having a 3.50 grade point average in the classroom.
Dwyer, listed as a senior but in her third season with the team, served as the team's starting point guard in 15 of the 25 games this season. Dwyer averaged 6.4 points and 2.8 assists in 23.2 minutes per game. Dwyer hit 30 threes this season, the second most on the team. Dwyer is a Psychology major.
Poli, a senior captain, started in all 25 games this season for the Beavers, averaging 7.4 points and 7.1 rebounds per game in 22.4 minutes. Although listed as a senior, Poli will return to the Beavers next season as a key member of a strong returning lineup. Poli is an Elementary Education major, slated to graduate in May of 2026.
Dow, a sophomore forward, had a phenomenal season as a two-way standout for the Beavers. Dow has been named to the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Second Team All-Conference as well as the Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association (MWBCA) All-State Second Team and now adds CSC Academic All-District to her resume. Dow led the Beavers in scoring, averaging 13.3 points per game while also grabbing 6.8 rebounds, and dishing out 3.0 assists per game. Dow is a Secondary Education/Physical Education major.
Mayo, a sophomore guard, started in 24 of the 25 games this season, providing great floor spacing with her shooting ability. Mayo finished the season as the team's third leading scorer, averaging 7.6 points in 21.7 minutes per game. Mayo led the team with 36 three-pointers made this season and shot 73.3% from the free throw line. Mayo is an Actuarial Science major.

The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Women's Basketball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student- athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes men's basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot.
Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced April 15, 2025.
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
