Vincent and Murray Receive NAC Weekly Honors

WATERVILLE, Maine — University of Maine at Farmington junior utility player Brady Vincent (Auburn, Maine) earned his second Player of the Week honor, while first-year second baseman Jackson Murray (Bath, Maine) was named Rookie of the Week, as the Beavers defeated the Lynx in their opening conference series, three games to one.

Vincent continued to dominate at the plate over the weekend, going 5-for-12 while also throwing 5 2/3 shutout innings against Lesley across four games. In Game 1, Vincent hit a sacrifice fly to drive in a run and reached base on a walk, later coming around to score. In Game 2, Vincent excelled on both sides of the ball, going 2-for-4 at the plate with a double and a triple, driving in four RBIs. He was just as impressive on the mound, tossing 5 2/3 innings of shutout baseball and striking out five to earn the win. Vincent added another hit in Game 3, along with a run scored, a walk, and a hit-by-pitch. In the final game of the series, he reached base four times on two hits and two walks. In his first at-bat, Vincent hit a first-pitch home run that sparked the Beavers' offense. He finished the game with three RBIs and scored three runs.

Murray made one appearance but capitalized on the opportunity, going a perfect 5-for-5 at the plate. He drove in four runs, scored twice, and added a stolen base, helping lead the Beavers to a win in Game 4 of the series.

Vincent now boasts a .475 batting average on the season, along with nine extra-base hits in 13 games. His ERA dropped to 4.76 following his standout pitching performance on Saturday. Murray is batting an impressive .545 and remains perfect on stolen base attempts, going 4-for-4.

The Beavers will return to action on Thursday at the University of Southern Maine at 3 p.m.
